Wow Wow. My beautiful stud boys did me proud. It was lovely to see Pat there and many congratulations to Alison and Victoria, Once more they got the 1st in the Open with their baby. She will soon be in adult classes and 'stealing' all the CC's.

*Phat Paws Booti Girl 66a (22.09.08) got another 1st in her open & what a clever , well produced girl:-
"Well balanced Blue Colourpointed lass, good bone and substance, length to body, strong limbs. Soft coat the body a bluish white, points and mask grayish blue. Flat plane between slightly forward set ears, wide at base, curve to nose, good chin and muzzle, Round oblique set eyes a deeper blue coming in from center. Bushy tail to shoulders – a very promising youngster. "

His second Best in Show this year; clever beautiful boy.
So much work goes into producing a cat to a high standard. The diet of the cat is imperative in producing a 'solid/balanced' Ragdoll. Ragdolls are judged on a Standard of Points and the first point is 'Large and imposing'. So feeding is essential. "Imposing" does not signify fat, there is a balance to achieve.
Coat preparation is a messy and hairy busyness but without it, your day would only bring and average result. I go to a show with the incentive of doing the very best for my cats. This does take effort, time and commitment.
After all of that its wonderful and elating to do well, thus all absolutely worth it.

Winner, of the Nationals! Cats go from kitten classes in to adult classes at 9months he was 9months and a day!!
So he held his own for me against more developed and well seasoned cats.

A crowd gathered to watch the judging. I am in there with friends and family for support. The Best in Show Judging took about an hour and a half. We had eaten off our finger tips by the end!

This starts 'FOR ME' for an 'age' before the show. The management of all my cats, is in relationship to showing.
I have selected a judging critique that clearly demonstrate the judge's observations at the 'London Cat Club Show' this year:- Noting 'Coat prep' prep for me is essential ,leading up to a show and just before.
"AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL (INC RED & TABBY) KITTEN FEMALE "
1 VALES ADNIOLO PHATPAWS BOOTIGIRL
A very laid back blue Colourpointed girl coming up for 9 months old. Lovely well prepared fairly clear bluey white coat of silky texture but a touch harsh to base of spine. Good width and fairly flat plane between well set furnished ears, slightly forward facing, nose of medium length with gentle dip in profile, retrousse at tip, blue nose leather, rounded cheeks, level bite and firm chin. Round eyes, fairly deep blue, set wide apart and slightly oblique in set. Well grown for age, but still a lot of growing to do. Muscular frame, sturdy legs with rounded paws, fairly long tail in proportion to body. Blue tail and points, good blue mask developing. Excellent condition.

As an exhibitor, I feel, I need to learn by my critiques (and others), both for the purpose of breeding, and that of show prep etc. The judges decision is final (well that's my opinion) and the critique that's written, supports their decision.
Critiques are not private to the exhibitor, nor (in MY opinion) should they be. They have no copyright and maybe used for any purpose. The judge that wrights the critique, wrights with an awareness of publication and that their 'publication' is not restrictive to any particular publicist / or body.

Hamilton’s CH STUDMUFFIN
A very handsome bicolour ragdoll who was one year old. A really large well built cat who had a solid heavy body weight and who was truly large and imposing as stated in the standard of points! Broad strong head shape with a flat top and good width between rounded ears which were of medium size, well furnished and a little open. Good face width with a medium length nose that had a gentle dip at the nasal bridge, slightly retrousee at the tip, with a full pink nose leather and good nasal openings. Well developed rounded cheeks with a broad muzzle, a strong firm chin and a level bite.
Beautiful large eyes with deep blue colour set well apart and with a slight oblique setting in the face. He had well matching bluish gray points and an inverted white chevron on the lower face area with a full white bib and underside. Long muscular body with a short thick neck and a broad chest which was mainly a bluish white shade. Substantial legs of medium height had all four feet being white with large rounded paws. His tail was fairly long and full and tapered gently towards the tip. A real gentleman when handled and shown in good condition.

Champion Purr Blue Bubble was at the show, however he had an 'average' day and none of his results are 'significant' enough to take the time to publish. He had a fantastic show previously at 'The Wiltshire and District' with a Red Card day (Inc' 5 FIRSTS) , so its swings and roundabouts, or maybe he was being gracious enough to let Forest and My Muffin have some of his glory xx

It was a day to remember; family & friends came together. We did 'all-things-cats' for a goodly while.

They were BIG classes, even if I
'say so myself' the day was a heck of an achievement.

too !! What can I say?
Bubble and Muffin......................Where were they? At home with their feet up. This show for me was an event, not to be taken too seriously. It was the last show of the year and a time to spend with family and friends, 'around cats'. A lovely day was had and a lot of laughs too. We partied at the Hilton, the eve before, 'rough' the next day 'springs to mind'. However the cats and kittens came up trumps. There was stiff competition in the kitten 'side classes' from some fantastic Norwegian Forest Kittens, a lovely new Maine Coon baby and some fantastic Birmans (there is a blue mitted to 'die-for'). My kittens held-their-own and it was a big competition.
The show was run like clock-work, with us all getting away by 2.30pm, well done to Anne Gregory and her husband. Big thanks this year to many of the judges, Sally, Mark and John. With particular thanks to Bedford and District Cat Club for your help, patients and encouragement, also to the Capital and Cam Cat Club:)
So I will embark on my second year of showing and have to say............................................................... 'Bring it on'.
The BIGGEST thank yous to Nikki, Chris, Katie, Victoria, Alison, Linda, Charlotte, Avril, Pat, Jay, Andy, Row and Hannah but most especially to my beloved cats and kittens. I know they cant see this but I am sure they will 'know' how proud I am of them and how very gratefully I am to them for their patients, sweetness, love and beauty. I am humbelled to serve them and I promise to love, pamper and cherish them all with even grater enthusiasm next year and for many years to come ..................Biggest xxx's
